Is America ready for a violent civil war?
Trump Versus the Hive (Part 16) - Why the Left crossed the line of political force first by arresting Trump, and why they don't fear another civil war
Are you ready for civil war?
According to a Georgetown University poll, Americans say we are 67.23% of the way to a civil war.[1] In other polls, 1 in 5 Americans, or approximately 50 million Americans, believe political violence is sometimes justified.[2] Almost one in four of the respondents – equivalent to more than 60 million Americans – could conceive of violence being justified “to preserve an American way of life based on western European traditions”.[3] These numbers have doubled since the 1990’s.[4] And 7.1%, or 18 million people, now say they would be willing to kill to advance an important political goal.[5] The University of Chicago’s Project on Security & Threats (CPOST) poll found that the percentage of Americans willing to use force to restore Trump to the presidency went from 4.4% or 12 million people to 7% or 18 million people from April to June 2023. Trump was charged in four separate criminal cases between March and August, 2023, corresponding perfectly to the increase. It’s easy to see where we are headed.
As we may see when we get off our high-horses, hopefully from open eyes ahead of time and not from conflict in hindsight, Americans are the same as the Hutus who hacked 800,000 Tutsis to death with machetes, and every other group that has engaged in violence. We are capable.
The Left believes, gravely mistakenly, that because they run the government now, the government is in the moral right, and those opposed to them are “insurrectionists”. They feel mob-impowered with anonymity, invincibility, and unaccountability. They see their use of DOJ and local police power to prosecute Trump as justified, and that if the Right used force, they believe the Right would then cross a bright moral line.
The Left is flat wrong, because they have already crossed the line of the use of force. Political prosecutions are the use of political violence. They are in Russia, they are in China, and everywhere else. Police power is the use of force. Police take custody of Trump with guns, would come take him with guns if he did not voluntarily submit, have the threat that they would shoot him if he resisted, and put him in jail by force and hold him by force backed by guns and bars.
Unaware and blinded by ideology, the Left’s leadership using government has crossed the bright line between non-use and use of political force for control of government.
Congratufuckinglations.
The left doesn’t understand communism because it is partially ideologically aligned with communism, and part of an ideology that doesn’t criticize communism. Many Left adherents don’t understand how true political power works in much of the world, as Communist Party Chairman Mao said, “all political power comes from the barrel of a gun.”
So, if you are keeping score:
- The Left committed street violence with George Floyd.
- The Right committed street violence with January 6th.
- The Left leadership committed the second highest form of political violence against the Right’s highest and clearest leader and spokesperson.
- Anyone guess what’s next?
Despite that the Left narrative is that Trump caused January 6th, Trump told people to be peaceful before, during and after the January 6th events.
And as leader of the ideology, he may be the only one who has that power. If the Left gets where these escalations are headed, G-d forbid assassination, in jail or elsewhere, there’s nobody else who can pacify Trump’s supporters.
Now, top-level violence is no longer a jump at all. Because our justice system isn’t perfect. Nobody can ensure a trial is completely fair, or perfect, or that Trump is safe in jail, or that charging Trump criminally under the threat of force isn’t what changes the election’s outcome.
In short, the Left ideology doesn’t fear another civil war because they believe they can use the system to prevail. Left adherents rely on current peace-maintenance and democratic systems unaware they are undoing those very foundations to feed their ideological intensity.
In the long term, the two keys to maintaining our national integrity are:
1. Our ability to freely exchange ideas and grow together in one united forum instead of separate ideological echo chambers, and,
2. Our ability to rely on our governmental institutions including law enforcement to be free of bias and the appearance of bias.
The first helps us sort out our differences and maintain one set of values and one moral perspective, as John Adams said. Essentially, to all be one in-group as Americans against all the out-groups in the world who are truly against us all.
The second lets us work through our major differences using a commonly shared and accepted system and process, operating under the values of the first.
Without these, civil war is just a matter of time. American’s first Civil War was not just a divide between North and South, but Republican abolitionists in the North, and confederate Democrats in the South. With our two-party system, it’s naïve to presume it is behind us, especially when we, in perfect irony, tear down statues of peacemakers like Robert E. Lee, the Southern general who supported reconciliation after the war.
Foolish reasons the Left doesn’t fear a second civil war, even as they drive towards it, include:
- The Left tend to be less fearful of threats generally, and more openminded. See, “…liberals, who differ on the continuum from conservatives in terms of their physiological response to stimuli, brain function, and even static brain anatomy”[6].
- The Left relies on a strong federal security infrastructure. While many patriots look to the Second Amendment as being the backstop to preserve liberty in case of tyranny, the Left relies on its governmental control when in office, and “deep state” when not. As Biden said, you can’t preserve liberty with AR-15s, and you would need F-15s.[7]
- Some believe such savagery is behind us modern and civilized “Netflix watchers” with modern conveniences.[8]Every generation believes itself evolved beyond the savagery of each prior as a common psychological phenomenon. George Orwell said, “Every generation imagines itself to be more intelligent than the one that went before it, and wiser than the one that comes after it.”
